Fellow Authors

Never let it be said that the Literary World and our Fellow Authors are not there for one another.  Especially in the Indie Author realm; there is an unspoken code and pact between us as kindred spirits.

A few weeks back I made the decision to take my book to Createspace and get it out there on KDP Select…calling out to my comrades for support in an endeavour that I had little or no experience in as I blindly forged forward trying to find my way through the mire.

They all came to me sharing their experiences, thoughts, kind words and help.

A special thank you and call out to newfound Mentor and friend P.S. Winn, who is absolutely the best.

Even though they are all extremely busy with their own projects, they offered up what they could with no sign of competition, concern or worry.  They were just simply there.

It might also be noted that Createspace, which is a division of Amazon.com was also incredibly helpful and answered all of my calls and queries in a very prompt manner.

Who could have possibly known a few years ago that I could write a full volume book or size and place photos … or self edit … or typeset … or put together and build a book.

We all know that the writing is the easy part … usually, unless we run into the old  ‘writers block‘ … which happens to the best of us from time to time.

My purpose in taking control of my book is because it has now become apparent that it will be a series of three books.  The Moon Sage Theosophies.  Book One is well on its way to being volume 1 in the Series.  Since it has already garnered 8 – five star Reviews on Amazon.com … and 2 not so favourable Reviews with a 3.5 and a 2 … I know that my skin has toughened and that not everyone is going to like the book(s).  You can’t please all of the people all of the time.  Putting yourself out there is not for the faint of heart, but it does get easier.  Criticism is part of it.  And there are a lot of great Writers out there.  I know because happily I still enjoy reading others work and I appreciate the talent.  Their diverse styles and techniques teach me something every time I read their works.

I was able to refine and edit, clean up, polish and streamline the content of Book 1 with the new gained knowledge of getting a book out there, without paying a huge amount of money.  Createspace allows you to change and upgrade your book, which I think is a necessary progression for a book.  You are so much more in control of how it moves and grows as a living, breathing energy.

Someone said, your spelling is atrocious; you use way too many u’s in your words … and I had to laugh because of the Canadian spelling.  And in case you were wondering, the computer and spell check are in U.S. spelling.  If I choose to use the Canadian spelling, which I tend to do from time to time, I vacillate between the two, just to keep you on your toes, lol.  And by the way, I am an excellent speller, always have been.

I am loving this writing experience at this time in my life and believe me, there are many, many more stories yet to be told…stored away in my noggin’, or scrawled down on a piece of paper somewhere.  I was always a writer, I just didn’t always get it down on paper.

I have recently found some very wonderful groups of people who also share my love of writing and I am so happy to make their acquaintance.  Such a supportive Community of Fellow Authors.  I look forward to sharing my trials and tribulations as a Writer with them.

Stay Tuned!!

All Good Blessings … Namaste’ …  Sue G.
